Florida and the Election

I have lived here in Florida now for fifteen years. I often joke that it has been fifteen years too long. Every time an election comes up, that remark echoes in my head!

Why? you might ask. Well, for as long as I have lived here in Florida. I have questioned the way Florida handles elections. Why each county makes up it's own rules, and mostly why Florida has no Voters Guide!

Previously I lived on the West Coast where states like California, Oregon, and Washington all publish a VOTERS PAMPHLET! Florida has no such thing. They don't even understand what one is! Some years ago, when I questioned the local voting office on this, I was told " So California thinks they need to tell you WHO to vote for! "Isn't there enough information out there, for people to make up their own minds?"
I attempted to explain that they did not tell you WHO or WHAT, but simply explained what each candidates position and agenda was. Once again I was told "they are telling you who, and what to vote for". I got nowhere. I then brought in a Washington State Voters Pamphlet. I passed it around, I then heard this. "See it's published by the "Womens League of Voters" they are Communists". I said, no they are not. They are an unbiased group! I was told to take my communist bullcrap and please leave!
I have attempted many times to bring this matter to the attention of local papers. None of them have ever published my letters! So I am now putting it up on this blog.

So goes the election in Florida. Where the only access to information, is the PROPAGANDA from each party. There is nowhere to obtain, unbiased information on any candidate or issue. In other words voting in Florida is a crapshoot! You have to filter through the lies!

If another election is screwed up by Florida, now you know why!

Here is a link to the official Florida Voters site. They have a voters "GUIDE", however it only explains where to vote, and what the Florida rules are for voting. See for yourself.
By the way, I have read many times in print, and on the internet. That a photo ID cannot be required for you to vote. It clearly states here, that you must have a VALID Florida Drivers license, with an address which matches! Likewise when you vote, your signature is scrutinized. If they do not think it looks the same, they will not allow you to vote! WELCOME TO FLORIDA!
