Obama, don't believe them!
Todays headlines claimed the Health Insurance industry had agreed to cut costs, in order to stave off President Obamas plan to fix Healthcare.
President Obama, beware of these thieves! They will promise everything, and provide nothing.
In December I purchased Health Insurance through Humana. I fell for their ads on TV. "Join Humana One, we have a low cost plan for everyone".
Well my plan wasn't exactly low cost. It also came with a hefty deductible of $7,500. This gave me basically nothing more than the promise, that if I became seriously ill, I would not be taken to the cleaners. Well today I got the news, my policy had been cancelled. The reason? I was supposedly diagnosed by my doctor with a undisclosed "pre-existing condition". I was requested to provide Humana with a detailed account of every doctor I saw, and every diagnosis and procedure that had been provided to me in the past five years! I told them, I had filled out the required forms at the time I applied. I had no further information I could provide them. They once again informed me that this was required, as well as proving that I had continuous coverage prior to applying. Likewise, I told them they knew damned well that I had not had coverage for two years prior. This was the reason I had applied to them in the first place. So today I was told, "Your policy has been cancelled, according to your request". No I did not wish to cancel my plan, only to get an explanation of why after six months, I was being denied coverage.
We need a government run Healthcare System now! These thieves will take peoples money, but deny them coverage when they are ill. The Republicans try to say socialized medicine is a failure. Tell that to the rest of the industrialized nations, that have such systems. For those rich enough to choose their doctors and hospitals, that option is still available everywhere, not just here in the good ole US of A.
Congress has a government run system, and I have never heard one of them complain about it. NOT EVEN REPUBLICANS! The idea that a government system would not work is pure manure! Yes, Medicare has problems. However those problems arise because of our "for profit" medical care system, not Medicare itself. Doctors and Hospitals overcharge because they know Medicare will pay it. They order unnecessary tests and procedures, knowing Medicare will pay for it. Now the "for profit" insurance companies are the opposite. They deny benefits for any reason they see fit. Even for necessary procedures. Is this really the kind of system we want. I don't think so. Wake up people! Demand a single payer system now. Stop listening to people who throw out that tired word "Socialism" like it is something evil. Does anyone in the US actually know what it means? I think not!

Lawn Nazis
They really don't like being called that. They like to think of themselves as "concerned homeowners". The reality of it all, is that they are just that, LAWN NAZIS! I could think of a few other names to call them, but I doubt they would like them either.
They are the wealthy homeowners, with disposable incomes. Many of whom, own other homes as well. This being only a "vacation home". These zealots of the green lawn, like to replace their lawns every so often, just for the hell of it. Likewise they expect everyone else to follow their example. After all, they spend a lot to keep up their LUSH GREEN LAWNS! So shouldn't everyone else? Even if they can't afford to put food on the table, or pay their mortgage. These are the rules. They should know that!
Just yesterday, I interrupted one of these "Enforcers" of the deed restrictions. She was posting a notice on someones door. I told her, that it was of little use. You see, these people abandoned their home over six months ago. They simply could not afford to pay their mortgage payments anymore. Did the local Gestapo agent care? Of course not. Beacon Woods has it's rules and as we all know. These rules MUST BE OBEYED, at any cost! Even if you moved out, because of foreclosure! They still expect you to fork out money to keep your lovely lot, pristinely landscaped. Today I took a look at what that notice said. It advised the homeowner that although Beacon Woods understood hard times can take their toll. They still wanted to remind the home owner of their responsibilities toward the deed restrictions. In that effect, their home was not up to par. Beacon Woods would take over the job, and hire someone to do it. They would then bill the homeowner.
WHAT A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES! These poor people lost their home. Does Beacon Woods care? Not one damned bit! They will now try and sue these poor unfortunate people, for the upkeep of their abandoned property. Since they have two law firms representing them, what is the possibility that the homeowner could win?
I have heard that there is a revolution afoot here in Beacon Woods. I only hope I can find the perpetrators-----so I can join them! If anyone knows where this group is, I would appreciate it. It is high time to end the reign of the Beacon Woods Reich!

While Rome Burns
The Republicans throw TEA PARTIES!
and while we suffer from one of the worst droughts ever, here in Florida. The residents of Beacon Woods keep on watering their lovely green lawns!
I think I have given up on Florida. It is a state full of agressive drivers, polluters, and wasteful Republicans! Not that you have to be a Republican to be wasteful, but it sure helps.
They cry about Obama, spending their hard earned tax dollars. Yet most of these people make well below the taxable threshold. What ignorant fools we have here. They cannot see through the lies of the Bush and Reagan era. The Republican party has never cared about working class America. They only represent the fat cats! They are being led, by a bunch of loudmouthed liars! Who have nothing more than their own personal greed, to protect. I gave our local Republican Committee the finger the other day. I called him some foul names, and I have no apology for him! He and his wife own multiple properties in three states. They have bucko bucks, and act like they are poor hard working stiffs. What a lie! Then they try to bully their neighbors who do not share their views on everything down to landscaping. Yes I'm talking about "Lawn Nazis". They insist on keeping outdated deed restrictions in their community, despite the drought. Despite the fact that the whole make up of their community has changed over the years. They talk of home values, even though these homes were built cheaply, and as an alternative to the many high end communities around here. This community is no longer one of uppity 55+ retirees. It is a community of varied lifestyles, working class people with families. Yet these stodgy bullies, still run it like their personal country club.
People today have more to worry about than Tea Parties and Lawns, they worry about putting food on the table, and a roof over their heads. The Republicans just don't get this. Yes uncontrolled spending ( Like that of GW Bush on his little war ) is not needed. However spending on our Infrastructure, and Healthcare is not wasting money, it is investing in our future!

Tampa oh well!
Today it was news around here, that gun sales were through the roof in Tampa Bay. Seems they are all afraid that Obama will try to take away their deadly toys.
This in the state that made it legal to kill someone if you don't like their looks. Yeah, in Florida all you have to do is perceive a threat from someone -- to take him out! Be forwarned visitors, especially foreign visitors. You could end up a statistic! The gun nuts rule this state, and they don't give a damn about anyone else.
You know it would be much more pleasant to be able to talk about something positive! However I have never been able to feel very positive in a place where paranoia and bigotry rules over anything else.
I'd love to go kayaking, but that guy in the speedboat just might think I'm a terrorist! We all know people who paddle and pedal are dangerous! It's just not Merican!

Today is the Big Day
Today is the Big Day that all of us Real Americans, have dreamed about! Today we make history in inaugurating the first African American President, as well as beginning a new era.
Hopefully, Obama will succeed in turning this country back on the right path. However he has many obstacles to overcome. The general lack of support of the Republican Party is the main one. Then there are the "Birthers" and "Wingnuts" of the political right, as well as the so called christian fundamentalists ( yes I refuse to capitalize these words! ) I have no empathy for either.
Hopefully Obama will pull our troops out of Iraq, and end Bushs' stupid "War on Terror" which has killed thousands, and destroyed our World Image. Hopefully he will be able to rebuild our economy, through work programs and Green Technology. There is so much to be done. I simply wish him all the luck in the world. I also say to those who would try and defame him, "Put a sock in it!" that goes for people like Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter. I hope we can finally pass Gun Reform, and Hate Crime Laws and set this country on the proper course. The Right Wing has controlled our country for too long. It is time that they join the dust bin of history, along with Bush and his failed policies!

Where was I?
Well, a bit of time has transpired since I last posted anything here. Not that anyone reads this thing anyway!
I however feel I need to do some venting. So here goes. I was on DIGG for awhile, however after getting at least one hundred "Shouts" each day, I finally decided to call it quits. Just as I was burned out by the Presidential Campaign, DIGG finally did me in. Between attacks on Obama calling him everything from Obamamessiah, to the Antichrist I could bear no more. Then came Israels attack on Gaza. I am sorry if I seem like an Anti-Semite but, I have my opinions and they are mine. I make no aplogies to anyone.
Israel attacked tiny Gaza with all the weaponry it had at it's hands. Gaza on the other side, lobbed toy rockets at Israel. While this can be annoying, and occaisonally did kill innocent people. It can no way be compared, to the death and destruction Israel has infilicted supposedly in retaliation. It is sad, that the USA has not joined the rest of the world in conmdemning Israel!
Other than all of that raising my blood pressure, I have to deal with the deteriorating mental state of my Mom. She is starting to have memory lapses, many of which lead to tension between the two of us. She has what I like to call, "selective memory". In other words, she remembers certain things, and words but not everything. She will claim that sometimes I or someone else has said something we did not. She will often pick words out of a Newscast, and then manufacture her own version of what she heard. This can get very frustrating.
She is my Mom, and I love her dearly. However, she seems to be slowly drifting away. When we watch tv, she often doses off to sleep. When she suddenly awakens, I tell her "Mom you were sleeping for the last fifteen minutes". She will always argue that " I was not, I was wide awake". She will then ask why the program she was watching makes no sense, and is almost over. I try to explain that she had slept through it, but it's no use. Then she gets angry at me. I am frustrated, I don't know just how to deal with it. Well, there I got a lot off my chest. Maybe in another month, I will post more or maybe not.
